Adelaide Band song reviews. Some of these songs have been out for a while but deserve to be talked about and applauded. Most music I hear coming out of South Australia is high quality, skillful and entertaining. Sometimes long-ass reviews are not warranted, just listen to the music. Thought I'd trial a song review section for That Adelaide Band and bring to your attention music that you may like! Get behind Adelaide bands. now is the time, they need your support more than ever.  Molly Rocket – ASPHALT When Georgie sings ‘I haven’t felt this good in years’, we believe her! This single Molly Rocket put out a while back still stands the test of time and with it’s fuzzy guitar brilliance it’s going to be around for a while yet – Forever I’m predicting! Now I’m here – Lily Appelt A cruisy, gentle tune that hints of some Grizzly Bear really provides a wonderful, melodic feel that will reel you in from start to finish. Hermen - Dark, brooding electronica created by SA's own Kestie Morassi

Image
It's probably be easier to send you this link -  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kestie_Morassi  when describing this Adelaide, born and bred legend as she's one of Australia's best actors and creatives! But when she's not lighting up the silver screen and teaching her craft, Kestie is 'Hermen', her musical project and a damn fine one at that! Creative's always have the ability to bounce through disciplines and Kestie is no exception. She has released some singles on streaming platforms that possess a dark, brooding underbelly(funny that she was on that series!). Fun fact, Kestie and I went to school together, so recently after she released her latest track 'The Story' I immediately bailed her up and swung the top 5 by her.. Check it out!  1.       Hermen! Thanks for catching up for a chat & an insight into your musical world! What struck me the most about Hermen was the dark, electronic undertones in your sounds. Kinda reminds me of Massive Att...

Rosie and the Posies - From 1991 to 2026!

Rosie and the Posies are a new Adelaide band playing regularly in the scene and they came to my attention performing alongside other prominent Adelaide bands and have also released two debut songs 'Love in Autumn' and 'Feline Supreme'. I caught up with the band recently to see where they're currently at!  Firstly, I really like the singles you’ve released ‘Feline Supreme’ and ‘Love in Autumn’,  they remind me of music that came from the Sub Pop Label,  namely the label that had bands like Nirvana, Sleater-Kinney and TAD.  When you started writing was your intention to move into that grunge-rock genre? Simply put, it's just the genre that works best for all of us.  Not only do we like grungey music, but it's also the most fun for us to play on stage.  I've written a lot of softer song, jazzier songs, and stuff with that kind of vibe. The punky grungy sound is what we love to play and make the most.  Usually we just play around and discover some c...
