Adelaide band the Dainty Morsels have brought a refreshing perspective to the local music scene with their unique blend of blues, psych & indie sounds. Immediately they've captured the attention of local radio station Three D Radio and more punters are flocking to their shows to see what the commotion is all about. I caught up with the band to get inside their way of thinking around song-writing and what they have in store for us moving forward...  Tell me about the song-writing process with the Dainty Morsels, how do your songs start and how do they end? And what was the quickest song to write on the album? Our process varies! But always involves just jammin’ it out in some capacity. Generally one of us will have an idea of some sort & then we’ll all layer on our ideas for our parts and jam it out until it feels whole.  Adelaide band TESTEAGLES performed on the local and national music scene for many years and certainly pushed the boundaries of genre as they toggled between metal, hip-hop, trip-hop and heavy alternative sounds. Many current Australian acts cite TESTEAGLES as an influence on their band and back when TESTEAGLES worked in Adelaide there was an exciting cult-feel at the time as Matty, Ady and D dominated the music scene with high-profile headline slots, festival appearances and heavy rotation on national radio.   Thanks for chatting to That Adelaide Band! Have managed to see Street Legal live and I find the consistent on-stage look really appealing! What was the reason for this? I mean, usually a lot of bands just adopt an individual image but you have stood out by adopting your own, unique look.. Heyo, no problem - thanks for having us! When we came together we wanted to have a bit of a uniformity to our look rather than just doing the same old thing. I guess we were inspired by Noel Crombie from Split Enz (who played in the band and also made their suits) as well as the Jonathan Demme concert film 'Stop Making Sense' and really loved the theatricality of a collective uniform. I want to further incorporate that into our stagecraft, since I kinda love how that can add to the songwriting. Unfortunately we hadn't anticipated a couple of other bands with a similar vibe (they are only red coveralls afterall) and tire a bit of the Slipknot references so expect us to change it up a bit ...

  Met Shyla at the SA Music Awards and she murmured something to me about being a singer but wasn’t until I saw her perform at Memphis Slims that I truly understood the Shyla Eve experience! Shyla is an up-and-coming singer-songwriter performing around Adelaide and she’s determined to push all the boundaries and get her music to as many people as possible! You have this incredible, raspy singing voice that lends itself to 50’s and 60’s blues greats like Sharon Jones and Koko Taylor. When did you first discover you could sing like that? I recently caught up with sister-duo Ella & Sienna and threw a few questions at 'em about what makes the cogs turn in their on-going pursuit to win audiences over with their catchy-melodic country-pop. I’d like to know what led you to appearing on the Voice and what did you take away from that experience? We started watching The Voice from a very young age as we loved singing around the house as kids. We’d always joke about auditioning for the show and how crazy it would be if we did but we never actually considered it until the year we applied. Fair call are a relatively new punk-rock quartet that take their cues from more retro-punk rock acts that you'd find in Southern California yet Fair Call reside in the city of churches which is totally awesome! I caught up with the guys and went through a few drill exercises. I had a listen to your single 'Skinned Knees' and it reminded me of Bad Religion, you know that early Epitaph Records sound. Is that something you're aiming for? Epitaph Records represent a lot of artists that our members listen to like Dropkick Murphys, Rancid and La Dispute to name a few! I first heard of Tonix when I met the band at the Adelaide Royal Show and saw that Archie was playing a Sax and immediately started chewing his ear off about the band Morphine! Since then I have seen many live shows and most recent an epic gig they put on at the Adelaide Unibar in which I finally had the chance to purchase the infamous Tonix bucket hat!  Caught up with Archie again recently and delved into all that's happening in Tonix world... Tonix has been around for a little while now, how did the band form? Tonix was spawned when Henry and I began busking as a saxophone duo. When we realised that we both had such a strong drive to play for audiences, we decided to take things more seriously and form Tonix. Henry had been given a synthesiser and we found that the first time we ever combined his synths and my saxophone, writing music came easily.
